News: Real, Fake, & Yellow

The History Files Archives-ep 081

Disclaimer: This episode originally aired in January of 2017. There are several mentions of other podcasts that used to be hosted on the Csicon network, and I doubt they are still on the air anywhere. These like any references to promo codes, are long gone.

This topic covered in this episoded seems appropriate more than ever these days, with all major news outlets operating as pure propaganda arms of various political entities and other shady elements.

The Pulitzer Hearst War

From the original show notes: We all want to know what’s going on in our world and elsewhere, but who can we trust to give us “all the news that’s fit to print” or tell us “that’s the way it was”? This week we look at the origins of the news media, how it became a business, and try to figure out what’s “fake news” and what’s “real news”. Yep, it’s all the news about news.
