The Guns of Indiana Jones

Gordon's Gun Closet Archives - ep 018

This week’s Weird Wednesday post talked a bit about modern-day “Indiana Jones” type Tim Alberino, so I thought it might be appropriate to talk about the world’s favorite swashbuckling archeology professor…or his firearms, at any rate. This special episode of Gordon’s Gun Closet was recorded in April of 2017, with our good friend and “Gearhead” (Indy gear maven) Steve Pelikan. We met Steve in the ‘90s when we were all involved in a WW2 reenacting group (British Airborne Recce) down in California. Steve move up here to Washington not long before we did, and at some point we all decided that we needed an excuse to put on historical clothes and do manly things again, so the NW Gentelmen’s Adventurer Society was formed. We had a few adventures, and when we found out that he was deep into Indy lore, the idea for this episode was hatched.

Steve as a mustachioed Indy

I also recorded video for this episode on my crappy old video camera. If you’re interested, it’s a nice way to see what the guys are talking about.

From the original show notes: He’s the archaeologist with the fedora, the leather jacket, and the whip. He’s the professor I wish I’d had in college, and he knows how to use a gun. He’s everybody’s favorite ophidiophobe... Indiana Jones. It’s a topic so awesome we had to bring in specialist Steve Pelikan to help save us from all the Nazis, face-melting artifacts, and bad prop RPGs.
